Lately, we have been introduced with Essential Oil Yoga Flow, and it was so relaxing and fun. We feel some things just seem to go together well. Such as: Jack & Jill, Romeo & Juliet, Yin & Yang. In my opinion, Yoga & Essential Oils have that same natural affinity that can pull themselves together for a synergistic boost unlike any other combination you have experienced!
When using essential oils in your yoga practice, you enhance the potential to achieve the following: Refined focus and mental clarity, Deepened mental and emotional grounding, Strengthened body-mind connection, Increased stamina, and Reduced muscle and joint pain and tension. Nature can be so healing and so nurturing. Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils that are unadulterated can transport you right into the Garden of Eden.
Helen Keller said for herself that "smell is a potent wizard that transports us across thousands of miles and all the years we have lived." As with Yoga, essential oils, herbs, and plant extracts have been used for thousands of years to heal and balance the body, mind, and spirit. Therefore, by combining essential oils with your yoga and meditation practices you now have a new and very powerful access to physical, spiritual, and emotional benefits.
The molecular property (small size) that enables them to penetrate human tissue and pass through cell membrane is also the property that makes it possible to smell them and take them into our bodies through the olfactory system. In so doing, the molecules not only reach all parts of the body via the blood stream accessed through our lungs, they also go directly to the brain, crossing the blood-brain barrier.
This is the origination of the term "aromatherapy" where essential oils can be applied for therapeutic purposes merely by inhaling their aroma. Both yoga and therapeutic-grade essential oils have been known to naturally decrease symptoms of stress by toning the glands of the endocrine system. Essential oils can help improve physical strength and mental focus. With various methods of application to choose from, they enhance pranayama, meditation, and relaxation. They also help cleanse and purify the body, as well as activate and balance the chakra system or energy centers. By incorporating inhalation and topical application of essential oils, you can become more alert, receptive, connected, grounded, uplifted, and present during your yoga sessions. We encourage you to try it next time, and hopefully you will love it as much as we do.
